About TheMadDabsong

I am nine feet underground, you will never blow me a tune.

Heart Of Gold

In 2014, on April 5th my mum turned 90.

I had decided to write a song for this special event and was able to complete a home recording.

There was a big family get together during which my song was played for her. It went down extremely well and everyone enjoyed a party atmosphere. The lyric at the end of the song went…

”and wishing you the best for 91“

Well, the years have rolled on by and she is still going strong, celebrating her 95th this year. I have updated my song and thought it was a shame that only a few family members will hear it.

So now as an exclusive web track, I’m posting it on my homepage so others can listen. I did have to change the lyric of course in the last verse !

I hope you enjoy my little song for my dear mum !

New album update: Download release today

Hi to everyone. We are releasing the album download today at 10am UK time.

We are also now in the process of sending out the albums, cards, and lyric sheets to pledge supporters. The first 500 signed albums are also limited edition and numbered.

Very sorry for the delay.

My very best regards to everyone, and I hope you like the album,

ps. There’s still 4 days left if you know anyone else who wants to order a copy or download!

New album update: Thank you for making this happen!

I’d like to say a very big THANK YOU to every single person who has visited my Pledgemusic site and pre-ordered my new album ‘Out Of Sinc’.

We have all made it happen together and my target has been reached and exceeded with still a few days to run before the end of my campaign.

I’d also like to thank Pledgemusic for their support, especially Luke, my campaign manager. They all did a great job there !

I’m now putting the finishing touches to the tracks after which I’ll be heading off to the Mothership Studio in Kyoto to start the mixing process. At the end of that the album printed data along with the audio masters will be sent off for manufacture and we expect the finished product to arrive here at my home by the end of March next month.

Then I’ll be sending the new album plus all the extras out to you all over the world.

This new album is completely ‘Made In Japan’ and to celebrate that fact we will be launching, in the next few days, our brand new Homepage also in Japanese which we hope will include a few things of interest, including photos, for people outside Japan. It will also eventually be the shopping site for other albums and products of mine.

Also ‘made in Japan’ was the guitar which Andy Latimer used on my ‘Home Again’ track as I mentioned before. For guitar fans, the make is a Burny.

One more important person to thank is my ancestor JOHN BLOW, without whose influence I may have ended up as a chimney sweep !

Btw…… my mother’s maiden name was Blow.

Many thanks again for your support,
Bye for now,

Happy 2018

Happy New Year !!

50 YEARS AGO TODAY Richard Coughlan, Richard Sinclair and myself moved into a rented house in Whitstable, Kent at No. 7 Westgate Terrace.

Pye didn’t arrive for another few days because his family house in the Highlands of Scotland was completely cut off due to massive snow drifts.

After Pye eventually arrived we got on with the business of being Caravan. We sound-proofed my bedroom with fibreglass and stuck a mattress in the large window and practised together almost every day. We somehow managed to scrape together enough money for the rent and ate only one meal a day, mostly brown rice. That’s my big memory for today !

50 years on I’m working to finish my new album, ‘Out Of Sinc’ with Pledgemusic and I’m pleased to say that Pye is again playing guitar on one of the tracks !

Good memories, good music, good times !

Very Best Wishes to everyone !

New album update: Bonus track…/dave-sinclair/updates/92657

Thank you so much to everyone who has pre-ordered my new album and exclusive items through my Pledgemusic site !

I’m completely knocked out by your amazing response and decided to post an instrumental track that we dropped from the album because we had too much material.

We didn’t complete this new track so I’m posting my old home demo recording of it which I sometimes listen to when driving as a bit of BGM !

Many thanks again …DSincs.
